PCSD mourns the loss of Brother Jim West

11/28/2018

The Prairie County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) is mourning the loss of their devoted pastor who visited the jail and inmates each Wednesday.

"We at the Prairie County Sheriff's Department would like to offer our condolences to the family of Brother Jim West," PCSD Sheriff Rick Hickman said. "Brother Jim was an inspiration to all who knew him, especially here at the Prairie County Sheriff's Department."

This loss is not only shared by the workers here, according to Hickman, but also the but all the inmates that have been housed here.

"Brother Jim,  has been coming to the Prairie County Sheriff's Department for more years than can be counted on his lunch breaks from work to have service with the inmates."

According the entire staff he never had a cross word to say about anyone. He gave advice to not only the inmates here, but to staff, just like a father to their child, the sheriff explained.

"He will be greatly missed here on earth, but at least heaven has gained an angel."

"A real pastor is not preaching of their own; they are speaking what God put in their heart by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is using them at that very moment to speak to the congregations situations -- past, present and future," quote from Monica Johnson.
